This is a quiet place for families who’ve been shut out
Families across Scotland are being silenced under Power of Attorney — and too often told there is nothing they can do.
Many hear the same phrases:-
• “You’re not allowed to visit.”
• “We can’t share information because of the PoA.”
• “The attorney has the final say.”
If this sounds familiar, you’re not imagining it — and you’re not alone.
This space was created by ordinary families who have lived through that silence.
Daughters. Sons. Grandchildren. Partners. Friends.
People who once felt confused, frightened, and powerless — until they realised the same things were happening to families all over Scotland.
Knowing we weren’t alone changed everything.
So we built this space:-
• to share real experiences
• to explain what the law actually says
• to gather evidence of what’s happening
• to help families find their voice again
There is no agenda here except honesty, connection, and protection of vulnerable people.
You don’t have to give your name.
You don’t have to share details you’re not ready for.
You don’t have to know the law.
You just have to know something feels wrong.
If you want to reach out — even just to say “this is happening to us too” — we’re here.
Every message helps build the bigger picture.
Every voice makes the silence harder to ignore.
We’re not here to shout.
We’re here to make sure no one is erased quietly.
